Uganda exported 591,687 sixty-kilogram bags of coffee in April 2026, valued at US$155.54 million (UGX 578.11 billion), according to the latest Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) monthly report. The average export price stood at US$4.38 per kilogram, six US cents higher than March 2026 but 77 cents lower than April 2025, reflecting the global downward trend in coffee prices driven by improved supply outlook from Brazil and Vietnam.
Compared to April 2025, export volumes declined 13.9% and value dropped 26.7%. Robusta exports fell sharply (-21.2% in quantity, -38.5% in value) as prices retreated from the historic highs of early 2025. However, Arabica exports surged 29.5% in quantity and 29.3% in value, with Drugar (dry-processed Arabica) comprising 50% of all Arabica shipments.
On a rolling 12-month basis (May 2025 to April 2026), Uganda exported 8.78 million bags worth US$2.38 billion (UGX 8.6 trillion), representing increases of 22% and 23% in quantity and value respectively over the previous year, a record performance for Uganda's coffee sector.

"Robusta coffee export volumes during the month were lower than April 2025. Coffee prices during the month also declined in line with the decrease at the global level due to improved global supply outlook."
Year-on-year growth: +22% in quantity, +23% in value. This represents the highest 12-month export total in Uganda's coffee history, driven by strong harvests in Greater Masaka and South Western regions, combined with elevated global prices through much of the period.
